Kick off your weekend with a bike ride, a hangout, or both!

Meet and Bike:

The Vassar Club of Chicago invites you to take a ride with Critical Mass, a monthly bike event where hundreds of cyclists ride through the streets on the last Friday of every month (no matter the weather or season). Starting in San Francisco in the 1990s and embraced by Chicago shortly thereafter, it has since grown into a global movement. More than just a ride, it started as a way to reclaim public space while experiencing the city from a new perspective.

The ride might best be described as a slow-moving bike parade through the streets and neighborhoods of Chicago, and is a great way to see different neighborhoods from a new perspective.

We’ll meet at the Daley Plaza Fountain at 6:00 p.m. CT.

• We’ll go over how to ride in the group, what to expect, and tips on how to stay safe.
• Don’t forget to bring a bike and helmet!
• The ride typically gets rolling around 6:30 p.m.
• The route is posted the night before, and is different each month.
• The ride is free and open to the public, and typically lasts about two hours, but you can join or leave anytime you wish. In order to meet at Time Out Market at 8:00 p.m., we likely won’t complete the entire route.

Post-ride hangout:

Time Out Market is a food court in the West Loop and has multiple floors of food vendors and open seating. We’ll gather for food and drinks there starting at 8:00 p.m.
