Pop Icons, Vinyl Vibes & Urban Oasis Dining

Join the Vassar Club of Greater Los Angeles (VCGLA) for our 2nd Choose Your Own Alum-venture in Tinseltown, experiencing pop culture, music appreciation, and al fresco urban dining—with all venues within walking distance of each other.

Event times reflect when the group will gather at each venue, but feel free to drop in at any time and enjoy the adventure at your own pace. Total walking time is about 10 minutes (0.4 miles). 

There is a 25-person limit for registration. $20 per person includes:

• Exclusive access to Funko Hollywood a full hour before store opens
• One Pop! Yourself Custom Funko
• Three-course Brunch at the Running Goose

Event Itinerary

10:00 a.m. PT— Meet at Funko Hollywood (6201 Hollywood Blvd)

Did you ever want to be your own Pop! Star? Now you can at Funko Hollywood—from the company that puts the Pop! in pop culture. Only one of two locations nationwide, Funko Hollywood is 40,000 square feet of fun, larger-than-life photo opportunities, and immersive sets inspired by your favorite worlds, characters and moments.

📸 Enjoy VIP access with VCGLA a full hour before the store opens to the general public. 

At 11:45 a.m. we will walk as a group to our next destination.

12:00 p.m. PT—Meet at Amoeba Music (6200 Hollywood Blvd)

Just across the street, our second stop takes us to Amoeba Music, the world's largest independent record store. Since 1990, Amoeba Music has been the place to go for lovers of pop culture media. Buying, trading, and selling all sorts of knick-knacks and media, Amoeba describes themselves as “a meeting place for California’s most colorful community of progressive and creative minds.”

Browse vinyl, CDs, rare finds, and music books across all genres. Whether you're a deep collector or just in the mood for nostalgia, there's something here for everyone.

At 1:00 p.m. we will walk as a group along Hollywood Boulevard to our next destination.

1:00 p.m. PT—Walk Hollywood Boulevard: A Vassar Stroll through Fame & History

Take a short stroll west on Hollywood Blvd toward The Running Goose, soaking in some of LA’s most iconic sights:

• 🎭 Pantages Theatre—Admire the historic Art Deco architecture.
• ⭐ Hollywood Walk of Fame—Spot stars and familiar names beneath your feet.
• 🎶 Capitol Records Building—Visible from Vine, an iconic nod to music history.

This walk is a mini tour through Hollywood’s golden past and pop present—perfect for photos and catching up.

1:15 p.m. PT—Three-course Brunch at The Running Goose (1620 N Cahuenga Blvd)

End the adventure at The Running Goose, a charming open-air restaurant known for its relaxed garden patio, local ingredients, and Central-American flavors. The RG Patio is tucked away from the bustle, yet close to the action—a perfect place to unwind, enjoy great conversation, and toast to new memories.

🚗 Parking Tip:

Park once and stroll! Try the Eastown Garage (6201 Hollywood Blvd) or public lots near Argyle or Vine for affordable flat-rate parking.
