Built in 1893 in a Tudoresque style, Strong was the first of the quadrangle dorms and is the only single-sex residence on campus. Housing 162 women, Strong is the smallest of the residential houses. The Women’s Center, a Campus Life resource center, is located on the first floor of Strong, with a mission of educating the Vassar community about global, national, and local gender issues through educational, social, and cultural programming.
