Completed in 2016, the 80,000 square foot Bridge for Laboratory Sciences is home to research labs, faculty offices, integrated classroom and laboratory spaces, and a café. The Bridge connects to Olmsted Hall to form Vassar’s Integrated Science Center. Olmsted houses numerous research and teaching facilities for the Biology and Biochemistry programs, including a 3,900 square foot greenhouse.

Beginning their first year, students in any discipline can get involved in research at Vassar. Students can conduct independent research, become a research assistant to a professor during the academic year, or participate in Vassar’s summer research programs: the Undergraduate Research Summer Institute (URSI) for the sciences, Ford Scholars for the humanities and social sciences, and Creative Arts Across Disciplines for the arts.
