Former national security official Steven Cash ’84 assessed threats to constitutional democracy in a lecture and conversation with members of the Vassar community on September 16.

Terence Chi-Shen Tao, widely regarded as the most accomplished mathematician in the world, spoke to an overflow crowd of more than 200 students, faculty, and administrators on September 11 in Rockefeller Hall.

Rev. Callista Isabelle has taken the reins at the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Contemplative Practices. She says one of her first tasks is to listen to what students and others in the Vassar community have to say.

The 2024–25 season was historic for Vassar Athletics. The Brewers finished 46th in the Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup, placing in the top 11 percent nationally for the first time. Teams won championships, advanced to national tournaments, and women’s rugby earned its fourth Division II national title. Student-athletes excelled in the classroom, launched the Athletics Hall of Fame, and celebrated major facility upgrades that will boost competition and enhance their experience.

Seniors in caps and gowns, first-year students, and many others turned out for the annual opening ceremonies at the Chapel.

When a local nonprofit, Dutchess Outreach, had to close its kitchen for renovations, Vassar’s dining staff jumped in to fill the gap, preparing thousands of extra meals a day.
